This is how Enigio
Web pages change constantly, what was displayed a moment ago may be gone or changed in the next. Sometimes you may see a website that you would like to freeze in time and show later. An offer, an instant message, a newspaper article. With Enigio time:grab, you can easily timestamp a picture of an entire Web page, just as it looked at that specific moment.
Enigio time:grab is based on Enigio time:stamp and uses exactly the same technology to depict how a website looked at a certain point in time. The web page is saved both as an image and as a searchable text string. Also important metadata is collected - the URL of the web page, which IP address the time:grab carried out from and who performed the time:grab.
Enigio time:grab saves a picture of the selected site, the text in searchable format, the URL of the website and which IP-addresses were used. This data is sent to Enigio Times server and will be used as basis to prove how the website looked at that specific time.
All data sent to Enigio Times Server receives a time:stamp and that combination becomes the time:grab. The time:grab thereafter serves as a proof on how the web site looked, what was the content and on which URL at that specific point in time. This is possible to prove due to the fact that only exactly that amount of data can generate the same unique digital fingerprint fingerprint which is tied to that specific point in time.
The proof is generated by a mathematical fabric that binds the time:grab's time:stamp with a number of public reliable sources and published codes which makes it impossible to manipulate.
After a time:grab it is easy to access the mathematical proof and verification of the timestamps at our website. The proof can be retrieved at any time. It is also possible to copy the proof and use it with no further involvement of Enigio Time.
